Hear the Child Report

A Hear the Child report is a non-evaluative report of children’s views. These reports, unlike s. 211 reports prepared by mental health professionals, contain no evaluation, analysis, opinion or recommendations. Separated parents find these reports helpful in making decisions for their children. If parents are not able to reach an agreement, information about the children’s views from a neutral party is useful for the judge who must make the decision.

We provide a neutral, comfortable setting in which children are assured that they are not being asked to choose between their parents. They are supported to provide their thoughts. Appointments for Hear the Child reports are scheduled so that the reports can be written immediately, and will usually be available within a week of meeting with the children.
